Capitol One has a pretty good program, you can use the miles on any airline, no blackouts, etc.

Iv'e been a member of Citicard/American Airlines for over 20 years. Most of my airfair has been free through there awards program. As long as you pay off your monthly bills, it really is a great deal, you are getting airfair for free. Every 30,000 points you get to fly anywhere, international or domestic. I forget what it is for every dollar you spend to a point, but it does add up fast. American Airlines availability has been pretty good lately honoring your award as well. In the past they would say they were booked, but last few years, they have been on the money.
