i've never used the gummy stuff much, and that's gonna change this year.

could you just give me some basic tips on how to use soft plastic lures (like the new storm wildeyes, sluggos, fin-s's) from the surf, jetty, or calm back bay areas?

be specific aboy retrieve, colors, etc. please.
i'll take as much info as i can get.

hope yer feeling better.

if I may, feltman, some advocate trimming the belly of the plastic to make it more streamlined, hence, farther casts- action remains the same. There are others who "invert" the plastic on the head, "belly up". There seems to be more action with the plastic inverted.

Hello PorgyMan,

That is a very common problem when casting those deadly cocahoes plastics!

Adhere to PLJ's sage advice (some advocate trimming the belly of the plastic to make it more streamlined, hence, farther casts- action remains the same)and you'll be amazed how well it works. Also, I would recommend a heavier lead head! ;)
