What are some of the best crabbing docks on long island for blue claw crabs. Thanks guys.

Bass surf you can try doing a search on the boards for crabbing /blue claws there are a lot of threads on spots to go crabbing

When I lived on the isalnd we used to go to the dock in patchouge or the one in woodmere. I don't know id either of them are still there or if they are open to the public.

I agree babylon town dock has very good crabbing. But on a boat around the bridge is the best.

I beleive you need a $50 crabbing permit from the town of babylon to crab off the town dock

Patchogue dock

Still there, down South Ocean Avenue, for non-townies if you're stopped by the guards in the evening just have a street name handy, they don't ask for id's.

Thanks guys. You do need a permit for babylon town dock. I will probably give patchogue a try. I have been crabbing at wantagh park mostly over the last few years and and the last two years have been really bad. Once in a while you would get a really good day but most of the days it was really tough. I still go there but it just has not been doing that well.

Try Amityville down at the end of Bayview. It is a small pier so if you go on the weekends get there early.
