I have found that by just not getting married I don't have any such problems. She's been hanging in there for quite a while waiting for me to breakdown. LOL

well...i don't have the significant other at the moment, but cookin a nice meal of the day's catch bailed me out more than once in the past...much cheaper and much simpler than a vacation, night out or anything along those lines...true, you do have to do one night of dishes, but that's better than 3 months worth

Come on now Al! Seeing you fish every day you must have the answers? Either that or your jar is the size of a 55 gallon drum all full up. My wife doesn't even blink after 33 years of marriage when I go, she knows by Jan I'll be back home till Apirl. The only problem is this thing called work! For Better or For Worse

My "for better", can be my better halfs "for worse". As the Chinese have known for centuries life is a marriage of "YING and YANG". I take a late night "YING" Bass trip and she gets a "YANG" with her friends somewhere. Another great word of advise an old friend gave was. "Let her win all the small arguments" Than when something important comes up. "Outging tide, new moon, sunset than fight like **** to get out and remind her of all the things you let her have. YING and YANG

Al- I take the opposite approach-Dec thru april- I am as annoying as I can be.By the time april fishing starts she is begging me to GO FISHING!!!--or---
try this-
On the day you want to fish ,wake her up at 5am and say Honey-Should we have sex or should I go fishing? If she is like most wives at 5am ,her answer will be- DRESS WARM!!LOL

Well,

Let me tell you only being married one year and also buying a house things have been kind of rough.

I guess fishing 4-5 times a week is not the best marriage counseling.

There are always more fish in the sea. LOL

Start right away...

It's working for me after 12 years:
Before our first vacation I taught her how to build a 91/2 foot surf spin outfit (I figured she's good with thread, right?) and went to Hatteras...
On our honeymoon, we went tarpon fishing in the Keys...
She knows she married a nut from the beginning.
And by the way - two or three trips a week is OK - just make one an overnighter.
Work hard/play hard.
