And to think, he mugged me for the 41 pounder spot. I hope he doesn't think that muggin technique he employs will work on the boats.

I think the fact that that was one of like 2 fish caught that ENTIRE weekend out there, and in the conditions it was caught - makes that catch even more impressive.

Hello Dano,
Geee... Thanks for the kudos buddy. I'll see you at the dinner party. :)

Billy40,
Yes, I mugged yah and it's not going to be the first time. ;) The truth of the matter is... On that night (gusty 35 knots East during the first of the flood tide with huge wages under the infamous light… it was definitely rough conditions and I was surprised that you even ventured out there. Questions for ya... Do you remember who caught the other fish?

MakoMike,
That's a good question... It is an invitational contest and the local tournament directors called me to participate. FYI: Other notable (Non-local) fishers were also in it. :)

You are not the only one who is surprised I went down there. I was content to stand up on the walkway and watch. I did thank you for the help getting down there, although it was for a very short period of time.

No clue who caught the other one

It's cause you were fishin!!

Congratulations Mr Knie!

You mentioning that night under the light reminded me of a long ago trip to the Light that I will never forget.

I was there and there was a fair crowd catching nice bass from their perches close to the rip. i was just a kid and I couldn't hook up. I kept changing my plug and switching back and forth between slinging eels and plugs spending more time re-rigging than casting. Finally ,frustrated from watching this one particular guy catching fish after fish i blurted out"what is he doin that I'm not??!!".
Someone who noticed how many times I rerigged and changed lures yelled back...."Fishin!"

Way to go Alberto:)

Hey Doughboy... Yes, I remember your dad... In fact, he saw my other fish (32lbs.) which was caught at the False Bar. ;)

Bigbillybass... She was caught on a 2 1/2 oz. white bucktail with a white curly tail!
