Hi!! Just finished up another rod and I have a question. The blank is black in color and I used Gudebrod Nylon #245 Royal Blue with gold accents. The blue looks great. I had this problem before and just lived with it but I dont want to this time. I have some Flex Coat color preserver and thread sealer but I dont know if I should use it. I dont want to darken the blue on the rod. I tried it on a piece of the thread and it darkened it. Am I doing something wrong?? Or should I just go and forget the preserver and coat the rod with the high build??? Please help, I'd like to keep the nice color. Thanks in advance.

Thanks

Hi!! Thanks for the info. I'm going to try the U-40 this time and from now on go with ncp or that ht metallic. Thanks again. Boy I hate that dull darker finish after all that work.
