I am planning two trips on the Helen H in the next 2 months, one Jigging on Open Bottom and the other bait on wrecks. Can I get away with a SEEKER 670 with a Newell 338 3.6 with 40lb MONO. Or should I be looking at a heavier rod. with a 4/0 type reel with 50lb test

Helen-H Rentals

The Helen-H can hook you up with a quality rental rod for about $20 bucks.

Bring what you have and use it. If it isn't working out or you feel undergunned just rent one for the day.

My first trip on the Helen-H was a few years back and it was my first ever directed cod trip. Used a rental rod fishing bait over a wreck and finished the day with 32 cod from 9 - 27lbs.

meandheboyz,

Hi,

You are welcome to test my "meat stick". It has been used on the Helen H before. It is a Lamiglas composite CGBT 841 M. No obligation! Just take it put your reel on and have a ball. If you like how it worked and why put a post up here.
