I am looking for options on a good all around bait and jigging rod for COD other than the Ugly Stick BWB 1120. I will be using a Penn 113h for a reel. Plan to do some private charters and party boat trips from New Hampshire and Mass. The Cod bible rules!!!

I haven't gone cod fishing since the early 80s and can't say I heard much of an improvement since, at least from the jerseyshores. They been taking nice seabass here and there in the mudhole from what I heard. not even sure how much a mudhole 12hr. trip pb fee is these days! remember 35 40 bucks back then!

Thanks Nick about the Seeker Rod. Ricks will not ship rods over 6ft due to ups. Anyone have any more ideas for a bait/jig rod?

Seeker BA-COD, nice rod, where are you located, a lot of tackle stores on LI carry them or if not that particular rod, they can order it for you.

I personally find the seeker cod rod to be pretty heavy, but if you can swing it, go for it.

Barry, if you're looking for an off-the-rack stiff other than the BWB 1120, there aren't really a whole lot of good options--although the seven foot Penn Slammer rated for 20-50lb line has its followers...

If you're thinking about a custom rod, you might have better luck posting in the "fishing rods forum," and you'll get more ideas than you could ever want.

Try DHL or FED-EX Someone does My cousin sent me a 10' surf rod when my uncle passed-on don't remember the carrier though
