Fished on walshs on easter sunday. It was quite an interesting trip. We started off going to a spot off nahant 20 minutes from the dock, where we had a quick flurry and i got 5 keepers in three drops (two doubles, one single). My first fish was a nice ten pounder, which i released in anticipation of a good trip. However, this fish, had i kept it, might have won the pool! After the fishing slowed, we proceeded out to stewllwagen, where absolutely nothing was caught, maybe 3 fish in the four hours we were out there. We finally came back in to nahant, and maybe 10 more cod were caught there before we headed in. Conditions were beautiful, with a long six foot swell and no wind.
Fished on the bunny clark yesterday with captain k. It was quite the experience staying overnight in a two person apartment where six of us were staying for the night because kenton was left out to dry and lost his apartment a few weeks ago. It was quite nice out, with a 4 foot swell and no chop. The day started off slow because k was trying a couple inshore spots, but once we got onto jeffreys it was a steady pick of markets all day. I ended up with between 20 and 25 from 5 to 8 pounds. The best thing was that i destroyed the notorious and overly competitive greg veprek, who was adamant about fishing bait all day.
Well, as he was doing nothing with bait near the middle of the day, i got four doubles in a row, which finally convinced him to go to the jig, with which he caught a few. It was a very fun trip.
