Fished on walshs on easter sunday. It was quite an interesting trip. We started off going to a spot off nahant 20 minutes from the dock, where we had a quick flurry and i got 5 keepers in three drops (two doubles, one single). My first fish was a nice ten pounder, which i released in anticipation of a good trip. However, this fish, had i kept it, might have won the pool! After the fishing slowed, we proceeded out to stewllwagen, where absolutely nothing was caught, maybe 3 fish in the four hours we were out there. We finally came back in to nahant, and maybe 10 more cod were caught there before we headed in. Conditions were beautiful, with a long six foot swell and no wind.
Fished on the bunny clark yesterday with captain k. It was quite the experience staying overnight in a two person apartment where six of us were staying for the night because kenton was left out to dry and lost his apartment a few weeks ago. It was quite nice out, with a 4 foot swell and no chop. The day started off slow because k was trying a couple inshore spots, but once we got onto jeffreys it was a steady pick of markets all day. I ended up with between 20 and 25 from 5 to 8 pounds. The best thing was that i destroyed the notorious and overly competitive greg veprek, who was adamant about fishing bait all day.
Well, as he was doing nothing with bait near the middle of the day, i got four doubles in a row, which finally convinced him to go to the jig, with which he caught a few. It was a very fun trip.

Willy- Good Job once again. Looks like your first trip on the BC was a good one- and you did not have to fish bait. I hate fishin bait too! Did Walsh's have clams on the boat? I heard their doin better with the bait on Stellwagen right now. If you don't mind how many OZ. Jig did you need at Stellwagen??( I am fishin 30lb Mono) I am expecting a shipment tomorrow of 12,14,17 and 21's. All the rigs are tied with 80lb Jinkai and the 6 and 9" blue sluggos are ready. Saturday we hit Stellwagen from Plymouth- will let all know the results -if the weather holds ! Glad to hear Capt K is feeling better...now if he could just find a place to live..
PS: Doesn't Tower have room! LOL

hey,
i was holding with a 10 originally on stellwagen, but then had to move up to a 16. They had bait on walshs, but so few fish were caught the whole day (maybe 40 fish for forty people) that it was hard to tell what was better.

What day and what boat are you fishing this weekend? I'm booked on the HH for Sunday. The weather looks acceptable as of last update. This would be my first trip this year after being blown out 6 times. Looking forward to it. Anyone else scheduled for Sunday 4/27?

4-22 BC marathon
"Slightly better than average" with cold water, scattered small resident cod
and no bait to concentrate the fish. Pool fish a 14 lb cod, we did get a trophy haddock of about 7.74 lbs. I think we had about 7 boxes for 14 guys fishing mostly northern Jeffries. Pretty fun trip.
