After reading this article in Newsday today I got to thinking that there must be a better way to save a few bucks without having to close parks, and I?m going to see if there?s something that can be done to keep them open.

If there?s any interest on the board to help just let men know and I?ll keep you apprised of the situation.

How about donations?

We have alot of people who live on the Island...especially Suffolk County.

I know we have 20,000 members, but lets say half of those are Very Active members. Lets say half of those live in Suffolk. Thats about 5,000 people. I'm just picking random #'s here.

If 5,000 people donated $8.00 each...that 40,000.

I don't know if it's possible.

Probably not....just a lofty ideal.
