OK gang the fall Stripper run is about to begin. I am sure there are many of you out there that have your favorite rigs to chunk those monsters. How about sharing you ideas and secrets to success.
What is your favorite rig?
How do you rig for chunking?
What tides do you fish?
What lb test do you use?
The article on Fluke rigging had a great response and very informative.
Let's see if we can get the same response here.

to add to the above, I'm assuming our south shore bridges are the best locations. would we expect any other bottom structures to produce as well? do you guys sets your rods out with j-hooks in free spool with the clicker on or is circle hooks with the reel in gear a better tactic. and what is the right amount of chunking that should be done? 1 (im assuming frozen bunker for chum and fresh for bait) bunker chunked per 5 minutes? is it a tidal force thing? thanks in advance. g.

Chunking

I fish whenever I get time. Not often! I fish whatever tide exists. I like 2 hours before high and 2 hours of the out going.
I use an In-line rig with a 2 foot wire leader on a 7/0 wide off-set hook. 20# on all my spools. I make all of my hooks offset. It works for me. Don't like those orange floats either.
I use small chunks not whole steaks.

Chunking versus Clam Bellies

Have had lots of inshore success chumming clam bellies and floating then out behing the chum, sometime with a little weight if needed. Is chunking more productive in the inlets and ocean, or is it equally effective in the bays, bridges, drains, etc.?
