We do alot of Poggy chunkin off the islands around Cape Cod from a boat. It's a in-between tide thing , basicly High or Low ...Nothing over 48" this year dunkin, but however, we spooled a few spinning reels at the middle ground...I use a ABU 6000 Tounry with a 30" flouro 20LB leader and a Sampo BB swivel. OOpps, don't forget the circle hook! I recommend you shore guy's get some fresh candy, use a hi/low rig, and sit back with a frosty! Fishin is suppose to be boring with moments of madness! IMHO.... PS Sand eels = candy..
