Can anyone recommend a good overnight canyon charter boat out of montauk?

A lot of the boats out of Montauk are mainly day boats and don't want to do overnighters.
A couple of good choices that do are;
Sea Wife, Dorado, Edgewalker, Sea Venture, Mistress Too, Capt Mark.
There are a couple of others that I can't think of right now.

I would recommend Rick Etzel on the Breakaway, great fisherman and great guy.

Dave Kolus has a new boat (Hooker) coming as well. I talked to his mate the other day and he said it was a really nice boat w/ all the luxuries of home. I have never fished w/ him however.

Why drive to Montauk? Try the Reel Action out of Oaklands Marina in Shinne****. I have fished with them several times. It's a big, comfortable boat (44 Henriques). I've been a far as 110nm with them, I don't think the average boat puts in the effort that they do.

I would second Mikey Bauhs and the Reel Action..... AKA "Canyon Runner North" lol, Also Capt. Paul of Spartacus fishing and waterfowling runs a nice operation with his dechhand H-bomb, they'll work for you, just don't get H-bomb mad... ever, or you wouln't come home......ever.......ever

Go Gusto!

Gusto puts you on the fish, great boat, and good people. They are in Oaklands in hampton bays so you dont have to trudge all the way out to montauk. you fish the same canyons anyway. tell them the crew of the Malomar sent ya!

Thanks for all the input guys, but I'm kinda limited to montauk. I have a few college buddies who want to experience the whole montauk thing and stay out there for the weekend. Has anyone ever fished the Edgewalker(i think thats the name)? The reason I ask is cause I'd really prefer a boat that does not do much inshore and really focuses on off.

Thanks

I've never fished the boat, but the captain, Chris Bako and I used to fish together a lot. He knows his stuff.

You won't go wrong with Captain Art Cortez of the Halfback, although he tends to do more day trolling and chunking trips rather than overnighters. That said, Art is a realy savy captain who is a good guy and will put you on the fish. Moreover, his boat is fast and he can get to where you need to go

Artie certainly knows his stuff, but I don't think he does overnighters. At least he didn't, but it wouldn't hurt to ask, BTW Artie and Chris Bako are good friends.

I am not going to say a word about Bako,;)...Art hasn't done an overniter since Jesus was an enlisted man....do yourself a favor, Call Tommy Sea Wife if you are heart set on Montauk and an overniter.He'll do you right.
