EGAD, A CATFISHERMAN? what are you doing around these parts? hehehehehe...

I've gotten some nice channels outta New Croton Res. There are probally more places but cats arn't big around here.

Spring is prime channel time. I start as soon as ice out. I like using strips of baitfish in the early spring. But once the spring rains start I look for feeder creeks and bigger rivers that get muddy from the rain. I switch to using crawlers and catch cats in deep cuts next to shore. Once the spring starts to turn to summer, stinkbaits and dips take their place.

No matter what time of year I always rig one rod with a whole dead bait. If there is a monster cat around that'll get em.
