The 4th Annual CCA-NY Winter Surf Seminar will take place on Saturday, April 6th from 9 am to 4 pm at the Knights of Columbus in Oceanside, LI.

This will be another full-day event presented by local surf fishing experts. Confirmed instructors include Billy "The Greek" Legakis, NY Fisherman Editor Tom Melton, surf author William "Doc" Muller, and John Skinner of Nor'east Saltwater.

The 2002 seminar takes a new direction, as instructors guide attendees through a myriad of opportunities and personal choices available to a local surfcaster. Past seminars have generally focused on "how" but this year's emphasis will be on "why." To help drive the points home, instructors representing different philosophies will debate topics such as tackle selection and "pattern" versus "blitz" fishing. The day concludes with one of the top "big bass" fishermen on the east coast offering his unique views on what it ultimately takes to become a "successful" surfcaster.

The program will also feature vendors of surf-related products.

Admission is $15 for a CCA member, and $25 for non-member. Lunch is included. Non-CCA members get a complimentary 1yr. membership to CCA-NY, which includes a subscription to Tide magazine, newsletters, bumper sticker and decal.

Doors open at 8:00am. The first speaker goes on promptly at 9:00am. Space is limited and advanced registration is highly recommended. For more information, and to reserve a seat, please call 1-877-98CCANY (1-877-982-2269). All proceeds go to fisheries conservation efforts through CCA-NY.
