I had tires put on the minivan at Wholesale Tire Company (WTC) of Bellmore. When I got back to pick it up the hatch door on the back had a NEW dent where there was none before. They refused to own up to it and told me to call the cops to come to the store to fill out a report! I figured that would be a waste of time which was confirmed after talking to the police the next day who told me it would be considered a civil matter. The repair will probably be as much as my deductable. It be useless to sue due to my costs involved. Bottom line:you patronize Wholesale Tire company in BELLMORE at your own risk! Hey any recommendations for a new tire place?

BJ's Wholesale Club (Usually have the best prices of all the wholesale clubs, and will mount oversized tires on your vehicle, rotate and warranty them.

Costco and Sam's Clubs are usually a little higher in price by a few dollars, but refuse to mount, warranty or warranty oversized tires.

ronzo, try Tires by Tony on Sunrise just East of 135 on the South side of the road. I have been using him for years, no problems, great prices, you are in and out in minutes, and cash talks, no tax.

RONZO - True, it won't pay to take them to court, but thatks to the internet, YOU'RE FIGHT ISN'T OVER! You can go to the STS website and contact them to complain about what happened.

That sounds like bad business.....and, being they are an affiliate that prides themselves in customer service, they wouldn't look too kindly on the owner of that store.

Might work, worth a try, costs you nothing. Maybe get some friends to send back-up emails - saying with customer treatment of thier friend like that, they would never patronize that store, or any affiliates.

re caution

Thanks! I did contact custumer service who also told me to call the cops there to file a report. When I sw an officer he told me to call them back and tell them it would be a civil matter. Good business people wouldn't miss a chance for good PR by fessing up and paying but these guys are numbnuts! I'm gonna let EVERYONE I talk to know about these SOB's! Today I'll tell Church people, during the week It'll be the PTA and so on! So Pass the word! Wholesale tire Co.
of Bellmore is a dishonest business.

Ronzo sorry to hear about the damage. I certainly can understand your anger. Just be careful what you put in print(i.e. the internet,or any other media)about them. You may not beable to prove damages but I hate to see them hit you with a slander suit over anything that you put in print.
Sorry for your troubles.

Most places that do minor repairs, change tires or oil, or just park your car are very unwilling to pay for any damage unless it is done with the customer actually watching. The reason, I suspect is because of the volume of cars. If they were to take a customers word that the dent wasn't there before the car came in, they would end up being an easy mark for the less than honest people in the world.

Imagine what would happen if word got out in a busy metropolitan area that all you had to do to collect $$$ was
to bring a dented car into the quick tire change store. After the car is returned claim that a previously existing dent had never been there. Get your new tires for free plus some extra money.

Tires

Good news! Not only have I had good luck with Costco but in one instance they refered me to "The tire Rack" on the internet[I needed a tire to match others already on the car and they didn't have it]. I was able to buy the tires I needed at a very good price, have them shipped, and Costco mounted them.
