GEBBY,
There is still bass to be had on bellies, try the drop offs near marshes(like the state channel)Another option is anchored up in the inlet or bridge areas with fresh bunker chunks.

Hi Gebby,

My summer bassing this year has been poor to say the least. I have heard from friends who are still catching consistantly though that clams are working at bridge pilings and on the ocean bars. I have been plugging and tossing plastics around submerged structure that I have seen the bass at and had no luck. I prefer using lures but it is not working too well at this time. The only thing I can reccomend it to use your depth recorder to find structure and work at it. Look for sharp drop offs and rips where currents converge. One of my favorite bass spots(which is currently overrun with ****tails) is where water the ebb tide runs over a 3 foot deep bar and it abruptly drops off to 22 feet in about 10 yards. Anchor in just in front of such structure and drop a bait right at the beginning of the drop off. Bass and blues will be patrolling the bar in the deeper, slower water waiting for bait to get washed over them. This is just one example. Concentrating on structure is a better way to spend your time than just drifting around. Sorry I am not familar with your area.
