Hey guys - I've been trying to castnet some bunker for the past few weeks and have been failing miserably. I have the toss down, but I just can't seem to locate the bunker. Will I have a shot tossing the net down near RM backside near the demo 4x4 entrance, or do I have a better shot looking at local marinas like wantagh park or something like that. Any help would be awesome..or tips for using some kind of attractant or anything at all guys. I'm failing miserably and need some help.

Unless the bunker is right on shore...I would ditcch the castnet and go with a seine net.

Don't where your from but if your near riverhead on long island they have been neting bunker from shore the past few days,check the fishing reports there are a few posts about it.

You would be better off....

Going with a weighted treble and snagging them. The bunker have been all over the back bays on the SS the last couple of weeks. They are easiest to see and hear on days when the wind is calm. LIKE THE WAY TOMORROW IS SUPPOSED TO BE !!!!! Catch em up!!!!

Netting bunker from marina dock is much more easy. The docks kind of corral the bunker nice and tight for you to net. What kind of net are you throwing?
