Brand? Size? Friend told me 1 inch, 8 foot is the way to go. Thoughts?

Do a seach using the term "cast net" we have discussed this many times and some experts have chimed in on some of those older threads.

If you are just starting cast netting get the 8ft net but if you have done it before go with the ten footer. Any mesh from 5/8 inches to 1 1/4 inches is fine for adult bunker. A calusa is a nice net im getting one.

I toss a 10' Cracker net with 1-1/8" mesh for the adults

I agree that if you never tossed a net stick with the 8'er

i throw the same net as Gil, works great. But i did learn w/ a 8 ft net. If you are new to throwing the net start w/ an 8. Go with a mesh from 1-1 & 1/2 inches and look for a net that is 1.5lbs per foot. Smaller mesh & less weight will give you a slower sinking net.
