The weather was perfect and ocean was gentle as about 25 anglers set out in search of cod. I am not going to say that it was a banner day, as about 35 cod were caught, but there were several nice keepers with two DEC survey guys aboard measuring everything that came up, including dogs! The woman next to me caught 2 keeper cod using Gulp pork bellies and a shrimp spray. (I didn't even know Gulp made such a thing.) I had 3 shorts but managed to win the pool with a 10 lber. It was tough with bergals constantly stealing bait, so you had to keep checking to stay in the game. It was a beautiful day with a gorgeous sunrise and spouting whales sighted near the boat on the way out and back. Thanks to Capt. Ken and the great CP crew for a great day.
