5 person charter - need 1 more replacement

Hello all,

I have a Hudson Canyon overnight charter scheduled for Sunday to Monday August 25-26. Two guys can no longer make it due to other commitments, so I'm looking for replacements so they don't lose their money. The charter is with "No Time" out of Oceanside, Long Island.

The cost is NOW $450 per person (which includes both charter fee and accounts for the mate tip as well). Friends are willing to discount from $500 for their spots. This is a 5 person charter.

PS. I should also mention that this trip will be on the "buddy system", so expect an even split for everyone of the tuna steaks, and not just what one personally catches.

The "No Time" is a 34 foot custom built sportfisherman that was new in 2001. Full electronics and safety gear, including an offshore life raft.

How many guy's are allowed on the boat? how much is the total cost?$500.00 per person?Sounds kinda high to me!!!what are you going for 2 day's?no wonder those 2 guy's backed out.you must be nuts,I'd rather take a day trip to Montauk for$900.00 for the whole boat,thats$175 a head,including tip, & catch more fish.Good luck on your search!!!!!

jpfsurf - Those familiar with overnight Canyon fishing will know that this is a reasonable and normal rate for this type of trip. What types of trips you choose to take are certainly up to you. Anyone else interested in this trip is welcome to join me. Thanks.

I am very familiar with offshore canyon trips and I have to agree with Jpsurf. $500 a man times 6 men is $3,000!!!!! Even with the tip, that seems much more than what you should be paying for an overnighter.

If I am wrong and others who read this are paying around $500 a man please feel free to contact me via email or pm and I'd be glad to help book you one of several very successful charter boats for much less.

Just curious, how much exactly is the trip itself and how much were you planning for the tip?

I'm shooting for only 5 men, not 6, so that's where your miscalculation comes in.

Almost all overnight Canyon charter fees I've seen or heard advertised run around $2000, give or take (before the mate tip is added).
