How much more do I have to post to satisfy you????
Some guys are really lightweights in the trash talk area, and get offended easily. Gotta watch what you say. hopefully people know how to take some ribbing, and maybe even give it back (as weak as it may be)

Actually I do have something to say (big surprise there)
We should have a sellout team, and/or a bandwagon team. How many guys are going to say, "I'm from Brooklyn, but I'm going to be on the LI team". I think there are a lot of guys who need the crutches supplied buy Lep & Baywatch so there fishing inadequacies stay hidden.
If you're from Brooklyn, you shouldn't be allowed to play for teh LI team. If you're from Brooklyn, and said you want to play on the LI team, we don't want you. You should be placed on the Free Agents (aka Sellouts aka Bandwagoners)
We may lead the league in crime (not according to Guiliani), but you guys lead the league in being from Long Island. Not that there is anything wrong with Long Island, but it's just Long Island - it's as bad as being from Jersey. Sorta like almost winning the World Series - you're close, but not close enough.

Yeah,I'm originally from Brooklyn and been living in Queens for the last 46 years but for the last 29 years been out on "THE ISLAND" every weekend finding my spots.Started out with rental skiffs and for the last 15 years or so been docking my boat out there too,not in Brooklyn.So if you consider this as "jumping on the Long Island bandwagon" and it makes you happy,so be it. I'm for Long Island,where the water is cleaner,the fish are healthier and there is no C.I. Whitefish!!! LOL
(theres more girls in little bathing suits out there too)

I can not wait for you New Yorker's to have this tournament so us Jersey fisherman know who we are going to beat up on in the finals.

...with all this depressing war chit going on, the theraputic value of T3 can't be underestimated. I haven't felt this upbeat about anything in a while. Ever since 9/11, (I worked 2 blocks away) I've never been the same, but fishing has really helped me at least forget some of the horrors I witnessed that $%^&*ed up day.
So I'd like to thank everyone for their sharp wit and keen insights. I had no idea how much fun fishing really can be. It's even better when you meet people who really care about others.
PS: look at the main T3 thread re: my post about including the whole nyc area instead of just BK. it's just another rambling thought I had.
PSS: skirtchaser - uhmm.... Team NJ currently has two anglers. That's NJ confidence for ya. When you have at least 10 anglers, then we can talk trash.

I'm used to all the threats(WHITEFISH),remember I was born there.I have caught and released my share of whities in Jamaica bay.Another thing about fishing that area is that I hate to use my good equipment there,I don't like getting any of that brown water on my stuff.If they decide to revoke my citizenship from there that is ok too.I'd rather live in the island anyway,just haven't made the move yet.LOL
ps. If the Long Island team should go down,I will be honored to go down with such a great bunch of respectable fisherman.I met them at the bash and they are great guys.

I have to agree with you 100% about fishing helping you out since 9/11.
It helped me out through the same rough period.Thank God for fishing,better than seeing a shrink....

theres a difference between long island fisherman and city fisherman on long island we use poles and sinkers in the city they used a budweiser can and spark plugs from the chevvvy.. lol

Guys, he's saying that there are no respectable fishermen in BK. Because there was no MTA to the Bash and none of us could get out there, we are not great guys.

Fliesthatcatch - if it wasn't for the Brooklyn guys filling up those boats, there wouldn't be any boats on the North Fork. I'm wondering, you cast flies from the NF boats? Yuppies.
