If you are going to follow the law then the answer is no as its a possesion limit. As soon as you enter NY waters you would not be allowed to be in possesion of fluke. You would also be in violation for having the fish cleaned. At sea you are only allowed to remove the meat from the white side and those count against your limit. As for how strictly this would be enforced... I have no idea.

THE END. Sept 1 at 11:59:59pm..................... In New York State.

I believe that is INCORRECT.

THE END is the same exact time but on Sunday 8/31 1 second before midnight

The way you have it implies you can fish all day Monday 9/1

Chinacat I musy disagree,....

This is from the DEC website:

Species Size Limits
(Total Length in Inches) Daily Possession Limits
(Number of Fish) Open Seasons
Summer flounder (fluke) 20.5 4 May 15 - Sept 1

If the season opens May15th and you are allowed to fish for fluke on the day of May 15th, and they it closes Sept. 1st, doesn't that imply that you can fish fluke Sept. 1st all day until it becomes Sept 2nd?

If the Rosie is going that must mean it's open that day I would imagine.
I just might even hit the Rosie if all of the stars are in alignment?

China you are incorrect. I am on the MRAC that voted the regulation in and it is definitely inclusive of fishing on 9/1. So hopefully I will see you dragging baits outside Shinne**** on Monday;)

Well, here's my defense...

Last year I raised the EXACT same question as I had no idea.
The info I provided is the info I was given last year based on all the other SO CALLED experts that explained it to me last year.

Hey Everybody- Thanks for cheating me out of 1 more day of fluking last year!!!

Seems a common way to go,

get out and row, row, row, row, row.

Fluke is open on Sept. 1st. As mentioned, seasonal dates are inclusive. Cosing dates, on the other hand, are exclusive.

I don't know who you got advice from last year, but I fished every day possible, and told everyone here what they were.

So let me get this straight. You can't read and understand the regs that are posted on every fishing website, available in print in every tackle shop and available by a phone call to DEC for two years in a row and you are blaming us !!!!
Better blame your third grade teachers. Voting for Obama I assume.

Well alrighty then........

That's a little over the top and uncalled for.

Why don't you move a little closer so I can smack you upside the head!!!!!!!!!!
