I'm going to Cabo around September 20th, and I am a little skeptical of the charter boats there, as I have heard a few stories that some of the boats are either runned down, infestwed with bugs, have crappy equiptment, etc. If anyone has any reccommendations of boats they have had good experiences on and would reccomend, please get back to me....Or if any I should stay away from let me know as well...
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Pisces

Pisces, ask for Juan. Not quit as expensive as Picante. We fished on El Bandito a 29 blackfin, it was the best vacation fishing experience I've had because of how good the crew and boat where. I'm used to say I work on a boat etc... I want to hook the fish etc.. and the mates just ignore you etc.. They were great from teh start. They pulled a terrafin map and went over it with me, we found a break way up north about 40 miles into the sea of Cortez, they had no problem running up there. We were the only boat and beat the marlin up pretty good for the time of year. Can't say enough about how great they were. When I wanted to Panga fish they offered to pick me up in the morning and drive me up to San Jose where the fishing was better.

IMHO, Picante is the best down there. They are top $$ but you get what you pay for. Fast, New boats with experienced crew. Class operation.

Some of these guys down there fish tackle that was popular in the 60s so be careful.

Also, be prepared to get banged for Live bait down there.

$2 per mackeral.
