anybody work the mouth of the byram river and/or the jetty/beaches on the eastern side? i have foot access, figured i'd eel, chunk and live line it a few nights this week/wknd. any advice on tides strategies, honey holes would be appreciated!!! PM if you prefer and i'll Keep my mouth shut!

yummey by the poo plant that discharge pipe used to flow a full 3 feet of poo. there are alot of guys who fish all over there for 8 in scup and lil stripers and snappers with much sucess.you can also go over to kerby lane in rye .

I assume you are talking about the jetty with the Red light tower on it. That is a treacherous jetty. Wouldn't recommend waslking out on that. Probably not allowed anyway. RYE PD, PCPD & Greenwich all patrol that harbor and would probably give you an earful in no time. There was a big article on all the structure on the east side of that jetty by the other weekly local fishing magazine a long time ago. There were bunker close to the jetty there 2 nights ago. A good spot for blues, stripers and fluke later in the season. There is probably no difference casting from the surf off Byram vs. the jetty.

As for the poo plant. YEah, it can stink some days. Never thought it was that that was marking up the water line on my boat. I simply attributed it to the muddy water. Funny how you can tell when a boat comes from Byram river from the dirty waterline on the hull. Makes me wonder why I spend so much time in the spring to clean the **** hull when it just turns brown in a week.
