Any tips for this location. I'm new to the area. Does not look suitable for the flyrod. I'm assuming a small spinnibg rod will do. Looking for a little something to put on the table to eat. Thanks

i fish there alot in the spring and late fall. there are many trout there. try using worms dough or small floating rapalas. my dad caught one of his biggest trout here on a panthermartin spinner

indeed, bubbles has some big fish, biggest trout i have ever caught there was a 10 lb brown, it has some sea run fish from time to time too (which myself personally like to release) because its those fish which matter most to the streams since LI does not have a sea run fishery like it used to

but its not hot all year long. and if you cast under the tunnle with a weight like said with a dough ball or whole night cralwer you will be suprised.

I could be wrong about this, but I think the water in the tunnel under Sunrise isn't considered "tidal" and is thus subject to seasonal restrictions, and requires a license.

I also think they've changed the regs on the Nissey. I don't think the water from White's Pool down to the golf course is open year round any longer.

but 1 ft of space between regulations and non regulation shouldnt matter. but it might. i have been fishing under there while dec was checking for licence's and never said a word?

Thanks for the tips guys. I think its time to start scouting for the fall bow season though. I pass by the falls alot and have not seen anyone there in the morning. Too hot I guess

It's been a long time since I've done the winter trout thing, but I've never seen DEC down there checking in December or January, either. Of course, I always had a license anyway. Just mentioned it, just in case

I mean open year round, like it was when I did winter trout.

I think the season on the Nissey from Whites to the golf course runs April 1 to Nov 30 now.

where have you heard this and do you mean you can only take trout from those times, or do you mean you are allowed/supposed to fish there.

ok, I am a regular to the area and have been fishing bubbles for about 9 years in a row now so just to clear some things up, you can fish the tunnel underneath the highway at any given time, it is part of the tidal system because on the other side of the highway there are tidal gates that restrict the amount of water released from the park, and all other regulations apply, it is open year round and there is a 12 inch minimun size limit and you can keep 3 fish per man, hope that helps some

Whites pool is open year round its tidal water as well. That and all the trout fishing signs they have say year round and the size limits.

I’d like to get people together when it gets warmer out and go in with waiters or whatever and clear out the **** idk wtf the town is doing besides nothing but that’s a great spot to fish during the winter when your itching g to get back to salt water fishing iv recently caught big fish there but getting snagged so many times is a pain in the ass the town or the Connetquot river community should agree with me as long as it gets cleaned up a little monster fish there
