I was wondering if any of you guys ever bottom fish from your yaks? I (still) don't have a kayak, but I want to get one as soon as I'm able, hopefully next spring. In any case, I read your posts about stripers, blues, and false albacore, but I never hear about fluonder, fluke, tog, or any of the other popular bottom dwellers. Is that because it's difficult to bottom fish from a yak, or are all just more into the striper fishing as a matter of taste? Regardless, I think what you're all doing is awsome & I hope to join your ranks one day soon.

This has been my first year with a kayak and I have already caught fluke, porgies, and sea robins (if you can consider them a bottom species). Bottom fishing has been a lot of fun and I intend to do more of it next year. You should not feel limited in the type of fishing that you do from your kayak.
