Hey Guys,
I have been reading all of the topics related to shark fishing, from gaf -v- harpoon to the best places/ temps to locate sharks, and the posts have been great. I have been shark fishing on a friends boat for the past few years, but as this will be the first year venturing out on my own I would like to have as much information as possible. If anyone knows of a good book or video, I would appreciate the feedback. I was in borders last night, but there was not a great selection on shark techniques.

Thanks
DC

FCFish, try Pete Barrett's, "Shark Fishing". I think it's available in both book and video, it covers the basics. Also, Successful Shark Fishing, by A.J. Campbell, Killer Sharks, Killer People by Victor Gentle, In the Slick of the Cricket by Russell Drum, Monster Man by Robert F. Boggs, and the Complete Book of Shark Fishing by Milt Rosko.

knowledge is power read................

DC,
Captain Pete Barrett writes a nice book you can get it from the Fisherman Library at 1622 Beaver Dam Road, Point Pleasant, NJ 08742.
Another good older book is Sportfihing for Sharks by Captain Frank Mundus and Bill Wisner. It is an oldie but a goodie. Mind is copyright1976 from Collier Books 866 Third ave. New York, N.Y. 10022.
Also there were two issues in the Fisherman Magazine that cover shark fishing pretty good. The first one is the June 14, 2001-No.24 Long Island, Metro, NY Edition and the June 13,2002-No. 24 New Jersey Delware Bay Edition. Try to get these copies they are packed with good info. One mirrors the other. I think the author of these shark articles shared a lot.
Good luck it is a great time to read and stay warm, also a good time to make the prefect haywire Twist............!!
