Blank Recommendation

Hi,

I'm a big fan of Batson's Rainshadow blanks. I've have limited experience building rods, but I think the Rainshadow's are quality blanks and are an excellent value. The wrapper is empty and I'm itching to start a new project. I'd like to build a rod to use for the Montauk cod run (Partyboat). I'll probably team the rod with a Saltist 50H.

What would you recommend in the Rainshadow line? I'm looking at something in the RCLB series.

Let's assume I expand the choice of blanks I'm willing to use. Given my limited expertise and prior experience with Rainshadow was the primary reason for listing Rainshadow as my preference. I don't want to spring for an expensive blank until my skills get a bit better. Are there any blanks that you would recommend to a novice that would meet me my intendeded use?

Thanks for the recommendation. It sounds as though that blank could also used when blackfishing in the fall in waters around Orient Point.
