I know absolutely nothing about binoculars. What the numbers mean and so on. The reason i ask, I'm looking for a good set (that wont break the bank) i can use on the beach. With the price of GAS rising like an old man on viagria, I want to see before I go. If you know what i mean. Thanks Alberto...

A 10x50 would be a 1Ox zoom, and a 50mm aperture lenses. The larger the aperture the more light allowed in, for better viewing in low light conditions. The larger the zoom the shakier the viewing if from a moving vehicle, but you should be fine from the beach.

jpd hit it right on the head. Binocs saved many a trip for me.. looking at other side of inlets, seeing rods bending etc. a must for every tackle box.. I have 3.. one large set and smaller ones to fit in the tackle bag.
