I'll be passing through the Plum Gut this weekend on a trip from Mount Sinai Harbor to the Peconics, (greener pastures), and I'd like to try for some bass while in the gut. I'll probably be getting to the Gut for the last couple hours of the outgoing. Any advice on how to grab some bass while I'm there?
Thanks!
3 ways with 3-5ft at least 50lb leader. Tie directly to 1.5 oz bucktail with porkrind. Sinkers 12-20oz as the current really rips there. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
It is up to 100 feet or more in some spots. The bottom is very rocky so bring extra bucktails and sinkers. When you drop make sure you crank it up a few times otherwise you will lose your rigs.
