I purchased a 28ft hattereas back in October, I was looking for some input on were the best place to dock the boat is, Considering I am hoping to take the boat offshore I was thinking Shinne**** would be the best place. I am not looking for a fancy yacht club just something with water and electric. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If I could have an offshore boat anywhere on the island it would be in shinny.. Close to the dip and hudson and tails, and there are many good marinas in the area. Also montauk isn't too far, and there is very good fluking and other inshore action between shinne**** bay, and the peconics. One nice marina is soleau's, right next to oakland's, but there is undoubtedly a huge waiting list. Both soleau's and oakland's are right on the inlet, great location... But there are many other marinas; jacksons is nice, among others.

Take a ride to the Shinny area ( Hampton Bays) and look around. There are a few marinas that you could use.

I was in Ponquoge Marina which is right before the bridge on the right hand side, just before the CG station.

10 minutes and your outside or go through the locks and your up in the Peconics.

Nice people, no frills place, a boat yard more then anything
