Im going to be making the switch to braided line from mono. I have heard that the polomar knot is a preferred knot for line to lure, but now I've just read about using the old standard improved clinch knot and just doubling up the line before passing it through the eye. can any of you guys testify to using a doubled clinch knot?

what's wrong with the palomar????

Why fix what ain't broke. It's the easiest knot in the book to tie and it works fine for the barrel swivel to leader connection. You are planing on using a leader aren't you?

i agree with mr trox here ...palomar is very strong. a palomar is east to tie in black of night with no ight on ...and doesnt require alot of loops and turns ....and if you read about it 90 to 95% strenght

....some times if i intend on switching leaders alot i will tie a bimini twist and use the loop end to loop through the swivel. this is great when blue fish are around because u can slip on a wire leader then when the bass come to pick up scraps that blues left behind u can easy switch back to mono with out cutting the line ....only down side is learning to tie a bimini and make it actually hold reqires a 4 year degree from an ivy leauge school ....and crazy glue

enjoy tight lines
