That would depend on which part of the country your asking. I say that because BM is an east coast thing and Behr is a west coast paint. I would say that 90% of the painters on the jobs I work at are using BM. I use nothing but BM. IMO Behr paints are too watered down.

I'll second that. Maybe a bit more expensive than Behr, but worth it. I owned a set/scenery building outfit for yrs and went through about 300 gallons a month. BM always had better coverage and body compared to Behr.

behr is for the low cost outlet stores. although there stain really isn't too bad at all. but benjamin moore paint blows behr away. time is money for a contractor and if the paint does not have enough coverage you are spending too much time. not to mention the amount of coats it will take for behr will add up to the price of benjamin moore very quickly. so when u ask whick one to use. it's benjamin moore hands down. could mean the difference between 1 coat or 2 to 3.

thats is what I thought, for my house I used BM, but I have been helping out my brother in law paint his house, he is using Behr,

It seems that it is not covering to well, multiple coats needed even over a primer

thanks for confirming my thougts

I was a house painter before I started Noreast :)

Agree with George. I am a painter and I would NEVER paint any house even my worst enemy with Behr paint. Use Benny Moore. But if you want a decent paint for the dollar i recomend Valspar used to be american tradition, you can buy it at lowes. Not a superior paint but good for what you pay for. I bought a gallon of BM at the store and it cost me $38.99!!
its expensive but worth it.

>>Don't use the BM Industrial grade paint it washes off with light >>damp rubbing. Someone tried that on my walls and he had to repaint.

I agree totally. When we had our house built, the contract said Benjamin Moore. They used the "low grade" and it just comes right off. The "real" BM is fine.
