Went out for a quick look around last night from around 10:30 pm to 12:30 am. Conditions were bright moon (two days from full), light west wind, mid outgoing tide, water clear with some weed.
After not fishing over the long weekend, I went out to try and locate some weakfish, and re-locate the bass. First stop deep in the bay, I found loads of bunker had moved in (and a plaque of horseshoe crabs humping my feet). I swam a few bunker, but no bass, just some big blues. Didn't hear any happy slappys either, just those boisterous blues.
Moved a little south to a couple more spots. Was hoping to find the weakies up on the flats, but just more blues. Except for the ever present bluefish, it was quiet around the bridges, as expected, as the bright moon scatters the bait all over the bay.
Made a few more quick stops, nothing but blues. Are they thicker this year, or is it just me! They are socked in everywhere. Had to quit early becuase I have a busy day today, but it was a nice night with almost no skitters.
