"Average" sea conditions in Western Sound

Can one say on "average" the western sound on the CT side, maybe Port Chester to Norwalk, is no greater than 1-2 foot seas? I am trying to get a realistic expectation of the conditions, hence the necessary boat. (I am aware the bigger the better, but the budget doesn't provide for a ship just now.)

I feel that it is very important to add in that the waves in the sound are much closer together(higher frequency) than a normal ocean roller. This can be more dangerous to the small open boat. I have seen many aluminum boats go broad side to the seas and flip. But most days will find you with flat waters(especially in the early morning before all the boat traffic kicks it up. Good Luck.
