Ugly Stiks
Rod action ratings are pretty subjective.
I ordered a couple of 8' Med. action Uglies, sight unseen, to replace my aging 8' Med. action Penn Slammers and the Uglies were noodle rods by comparison. I guess it's all in what your used to.
I exchanged them for Heavy action BWS 1102's and consider them to be medium action, IMHO.
"Forgiving" tip, powerful butt section, Fuji components...great rods, crappy paint.
I use both Fireline and PowerPro and the guides remain unaffected.
