I saw that at the NY show. Its pretty neat. The guy at the show told me that you attach it to your line while your fishing to see whats below your bait. I can see a bass or blue hitting it on the surface and bye bye transducer. Maybe you'll get to see whats in its belly!!

technology

What kind of C*** are they going to put on the market now.

What ever happened to the old fashion way of fishing, you know tides, winds, currents, water temp.

As a car salesman told me once, "there is an A** for every seat."

Maybe they will put the fish on the hook for you too, GEEEZZZZ!!!:(

I guess the "Old Fashioned Way" differs based on who you talk to. Old Fashioned could mean not using a rod, reel, or line - just a spear. No chemically sharpened hooks, hi-tech motors (only oars), etc.

I think it's cool, but I wouldn't bother with it.

Get REAL

Lets face it guys there is always going to be something new on the market that supposedly help you fish, but this is going to far.

I guess you guys from Brooklyn are into this stuff. Just think of all the cars and bodies you would pick up with this thing.:)

I would love to see you guys on the river in a loin cloth and a spear. You probably wouldn't even get noticed.

Technology ? huh

Hello there,

Last year I saw the guy on shipsheadbay, close to casino, with some kind of fishfinder, it was like a watch, and 3 or 4 people were folowing him back and forth looking for fish and guess what, no one got even skate with him.I do belive in technology but not in that, do your usual fishing from surf and spend many on better rod or reel. It's just my 2 cents :)

john - i do not use the so called "loincloth" technology. and spears are cheating.
i only fish seal and otter style. the best way!

seriously, though, addict. i saw that too and gave it some thought, but i KNOW fish are down there where im casting, its getting them to bite thats tricky.
also: is it saltwater proof? i think its meant for bass (the little kind) fishing.
its a good idea, but i can tell where the fish will be in my areas just by the tidestage and weather. spend the $170 on 1 or 2 nice surfrods instead.

tough crowd...

LOL

I haven't fished for decades and I want to try different spots this yr from surf. Since I don't know the areas I'll be fishing, I wanted to check this out.

I thought $170 split up bet a few peeps might solve the expense part. Paying about $35-$45/person to check out new technology. If it works, then great. If not, it's the price of one party boat trip (fare only).

In the end, I just wanted to know if any of you folks have used this yet and was looking for reviews of the product.

nycman - don't know if it's rated for sw use...good point.

It would be great at some of the lakes that don't allow boats on them! I always thought to myself "if i could just have a boat with a fishfinder on it for one day on this lake". This would give me such a better understanding.....

I'll only use the spear if the Loincloth is Pink. Then I might get noticed, but by the wrong crowd. I certainly wouldn't don the Pink Loincloth if I was fishing the Hudson on the Lower West Side.

One year in Prospet Park, they removed like 6 bodies. No cars in there though, I'm sure a lot of other things.

The thing that gets me about this, you cast it out on a quiet lake (as per the advertisement) the thing plops down, probably scaring the crap out of any fish in the area. How teh **** is it supposed to see any fish then? By the time you look at teh screen, all you'll see is teh tails of the fish swimming away?

Was Waitin

Hey Brooklyn Guys...I was waiting for the responce from all of you like the one B/F gave me.

Bodies, cars, bodies in cars, Lucca form the Godfather saga, you know all the good stuff that goes on in there. :);)

Just a wild mood yesterday from being bored with this weather, was it a full moon?

Hi Tech Stuff....

Baywatch,
I'm with you, the thrill of the Hunt is a big part of Fishing. Some guys need every advantage to catch fish rather than rely on their own abitity.

Most Brooklyn Guys need all the help they can get, Lots of competition for "Braggin' Rights" around there.

Some of us enjoy the Fishing part as much as the "Catching"

Toutog:)

Under Water Camera

LkyLindy

I had the opportunity to see one of those underwater cameras while on a boat in Kodiak, Alaska last year. They work really good. The capt. was telling me that the one he had ran about $2000. The picture was super crisp since the water is so clear there. It was cool to see Halibut, Salmon, Cod and Rockfish swimming around. It was really cool watching a big Halibut take a jig bouncing on the bottom. However, I don't think they would work to well around here. Visibility in the waters around LI are much much less. Even in the ocean a few miles out you only get about 4 ft. visibilty.
