just rechecked forecast they dropped the 10/15 south wind to 5 gonna be a hot day out there

I'll be out tomorrow as well. Fishing the Snug Harbor tourney. Be on the lookout for some fun radio chatter on 66/68. Always a good time when the once a year yahoos go out and try to own the ocean. Wish me luck.... and patience....

Im heading out on saturday (out of jones) not sure what the weathers going to be they have the wind at 5-15 if thers no drift i guss i will have to try out those new shark trolling lures i just picked up.

1st Day report

First day for the Snug Harbor Tourney. Mixed action throughout the day. Drifted at Suffolk, and got swarmed by the Blue Sharks most of the day. Water was clear, drift was Slooooowwww... Managed 10 Tag and release, all blues. Upsides: No break offs, saw a giant mola mola and a sea turtle ( at suffolk... kind of weird.), and the crew was in good form. Downsides: no Threshers, no Makos, and my one live bluefish got his head chopped off 10 mins into the day... Also, still learning the art of using the dehookers... not as easy as it seems on ESPN.... All in all, great weather day, good effort by all, and plenty of life, albeit small...

Will post for day 2 and put photos.

fished 700/300 out of moriches 1 smmall brown around 9.30 40/50lb released 10/30 100lb blue had an ok drift for the light wind...moved a bit east around 1.00 got nothing headed home 4.00

Aborted Shark Trip

7-13-08,woke up to sca this morning but decided to make the run to moriches inlet for a look,there was no way out with at least 10 or 12 rows of breakers,even the cut to the west was all white water,hope next sunday is better.

Heading out in the AM from Jones on 28' WC Coastal. Will be in the area of the Virginia and possibly points East.

went last week to the combria 1 mako 75lbs 1 brown 120lbs both set free to fight another day and at least 15 basking sharks was unreal to see that many they were with us all day
