Today?s NY Times on line is reporting that a fisherman died when his small fishing boat capsized in rough seas and high winds off City Island in the Bronx during yesterday?s windy conditions. (The story is under N. Y. Region)
These stories are becoming all too familiar, as it seems this happens every time we get foul weather. People have to use plain common sense and stay at the dock when there are gale conditions or a storm is raging.
My sympathy goes out to the fisherman?s family.

I honestly don't understand why anyone would be on the water in that weather if they didn't have to be. If you wanted to check your boat you go out before the blow and batten down the hatches, lucky for us we can turn on the weather and know what to expect hours or days before it hits. Feel very bad for the family but it just sounds like stupidity!

heres the dope

Victor Amezquita, 66, of East Harlem, drowned when the boat he and three others went fishing in flipped over about 11:15 a.m., police said. The three other men were rescued when a passing boat picked them up, police said.

and so thru a short internet search i have the dope on Victor a 66 year old fishing enthuast who got himself drowned at sea in that big blow last week

his 3 pals seem to make out ok, i guess . dont they rent boats on city island? think they rented the thing? i mean between me and the rest of yous here on boating angler....

there no place to trailer in manhatten,

i would move out of manhatten if i lived there and had extra dough, not buy a boat ans slip space in city island. i think these guys were rental? if so who rented this to these guys was the

also a passing boater picked up the other 3, who the was that nut? and why aint he flipped over, there were 40mph gusting winds from the nw!;)
