Opening day finally came and Rich Emme took the pool on the 8am trip with a nice 2 lb flatty. Rich had 2 keepers as well. The afternoon trip had Jenn Carbone taking the pool with a fine 1.5 lb flounder.
The day totaled out with 9 keeper flounder and 5 shorts. Not too bad for opening day! Better days are to come.

Weather man was wrong again. Regardless of the weather we had a slow day today with 3 keepers landed for a light crowd. The 2pm trip never got out. Thanks to all the brave souls that made it to the dock.

The morning trip was light so we took the Xpress and headed for skinny water and had a few fish at every drop. Timmy had 3 flounder and everyone went home with 2 or 3. Here are some pics and of the past few days.

The bite in the bay is still a little slow. We are hoping that it picks up with the good weather today and tomorrow. Today Ron Joblonski was high hook with 3 nice flatties for the dinner table. A few had a pair. The pool fish was just under 2 lbs.

ANGLER II will not be sailing on Tuesday, April 15

Well the weather went from pea soup fog in the early am then to picture perfect in the late morning into the late afternoon. And the warm sun beating down on the water turned on the flounder.
The ANGLER Xpress had Billy Ryan and crew on board for a pick of flounder to 2 lbs early on then a slow pick in the afternoon. 13 keepers in total all caught on mussels. None touched the worm or clam.
The ANGLER II had the same results on the 8am trip. The 2pm trip is where the bite really picked up and worms were the bait of choice. Arty "The Vetran" had 7 keepers. Howard The "BEACH BUM" had 7 as well. Big Joe (last years derby winner) took 5 keepers. Everyone else had 2-4. Ricky took the pool with a nice 2.1 lber and is now tie for the lead in our derby. The total for the afternoon trip was an amazing 47 keepers !!!!

ANGLER II Report

Friday, April 11

Slow pick of flounder today on the 2pm trip. Pool fish went 2 lbs.

Saturday, April 12 8am trip

Much better bite this morning light on fares. 6 passengers took home 24 keepers to 2.5 lbs and that fish takes the lead in our flounder derby, caught by Anthony Williams who had 5 keepers in all.

The afternoon produced basically the same results 30 flounder made it over the rail. Anthony Williams and Father made it out for the pm trip and Anthony had 9 keepers for the day. Not too shabby!

I think he tied his catch from last week? Seadur had 5 keepers for himselsf as well. Total for the morning trip was 52 keepers. Fishing on the drift produced alot of the flounder.
