There's been a lot of commotion lately about the North Shore. Surely I had to check things out for myself and made a move over. Worked the shoreline from nearly Roanoke Shoal all the way to Sinai and there was fish everywhere. Only 2 people on the boat and well over 120+ Fluke were caught and released. Four N.Y. keepers were boxed for dinner and all others were thrown back to swim another day. Daiwa conch jig with a three-wayed sandeel imitation worked the best. They were slamming both the jig and teaser. Tipped both the Daiwa conch and teaser with squid and/or speering and they were taking them down with ease. In a nutshell, the time has arrived where the water is lit up with all species. Boated a couple Togs the other day up to 5lbs. The Fluking is plain silly and the Bass have showed back up in numbers. Even the Porgies are stacked up pretty good. Caught about 20 in no time yesterday along with a half dozen keeper Sea Bass. There was little down time with the bass but they're definitely back in numbers and ready to eat. Had a Bass trip a few days ago and the action was nonstop. Caught all of them in 45-60ft of water. Water's heating up and the sun was getting higher and higher so I felt it was best to go deep. Luckily it worked out and they were stacked up pretty good. It's only going to get better!!! <like href="http://www.noreast.com/postedreports/view.cfm?id=127881" send="false" show_faces="false" width='layout="button_count"'></like> 1 2 3 4 |
