Not sure how to link but if you do a search for Muskie it should pop up. If not, do a search for Muskie on Noreast and there is a link from Lep.

See below for link- THANKS GEBBY!!

muskie rod

I too had a problem finding this rod at Bass Pro. The problem was I was searching for "MUSKY". A search for "MUSKIE" did the trick.

The rod is only 6'3". Do you think this would be too short for party boat blackfishing? Inshore and North Shore of course.

Thanks and good luck.

You will NEVER find such a nice rod for this kind of money anywhere else. Period.

A bit short for use on a Partyboat IMO, and also a bit too stiff for fluke, again IMO, but for $20, they're a STEAL! ! !

Here's a rod review link from earlier this dreadful winter:

thanks from a new member

thanks...

Hi, a new member here- been reading (and really enjoying) the board. I posted this under another a different forum, so I thought I might as well here.

I'm someone who appreciates quality but also appreciates value. The BPS rod mentioned above sounded/looked too good to be true. I ended up ordering three graphite rods from BPS w/quality guides, graphite seats and cork grips.

The muskie rod quick/Lep mentioned above is still on sale for $25 (incld shipping), second rod 8-17#, for bucktailing fluke ($30 w/shipping), third rod 10-20# - backup to my med app rod, ocean porgy, c-bass, fluke, etc... ($25 w/shipping). Don't know exactly after s&h/taxes, but total was about $83. $83 BUCKS!!!

I haven't fished all my life as some of you, but I think all will say these are UNBELIEVEABLE prices and I just wanted to thank the contributors.

PS: Anyone with thoughts on what "value" reels I can match the above rods with? I am looking to spend $50 - $75 per reel.

Thanks again to Lep and others for sharing!

A few that have been recommended are the Daiwa Firewolf series (around $50) and the Shimano TR-200 (around $75). My "Lep stick" is on a truck in Melville already (how is that for fast shipping?) and I am going to head over to Causeway to see what they feel like.

Hey Lep!

I figured as long as I was ordering one of the Lep rods to see what it is all about I might as well order 3 more.

I will use these for donation rods. I can't buy a good blank for that kind of money. This way I won't have to build a rod, just gussy it up with a decal and a couple turns of thread.

Guys,
Are these all grahite rods or are they composite? The website indicated all graphite, and I have a thing about graphite rods. They just get too beat up and break too easily. So what are these things? Also would they make a good stick for dorrmat fishing?

Like I wrote earlier this year, I have a buddy who used this rod on my boat at 17 last Fall with 8oz sinkers and banged the tog to 10lb6oz. Had no problem with the hoggie toggies at all.

Another friend borrowed mine to clam chum Jones Inlet with me for that really intense run of bass the last week of Oct and even with the swift tide, no problemo, fish to 38" pulled like a bear in that current, but came right to the boat on that rod.

I just think something with a bit more sensitivity in the tip section is more appropriate for fluke. Maybe the Southside at Montauk would be a good place to test this rod, but for typical deep-water fluking like I do off Jones (Say to 90') with up to 8 and even 10oz bullets, I have other better choices for that application.

Not to say the Lep Stick can't do it, though, as it most certainly can.

Hi all,

My 4 Lep rods arrived today in 4 seperate tubes. 1 tube was dented and of course inside was a 1 pc rod but in 2 pcs. The other 3 were in good shape.

I hung a 12 oz sinker on tip of rod and it barely bent the tip. For the price it is a great deal.
