Crazy-Al,

Nice picture! Two quick questions though...was that pic really taken during the summer? It looks as if you have quite a heavy coat on.

Also the article claims that you grab weaks all day...what about boat traffic (an enemy of mine)? The author says the bite will pick up now through september. So like bass I guess weaks are around most of the time but with the good part of the season during the spring and late summer/fall. How true is this?

thanks,

Hello Somoan,

Thank you for your compliment and allow me answer some of your questions.

"Was that pic really taken during the summer? It looks as if you have quite a heavy coat on."
Yes it was… If you take a closer look… I was wearing my rain gear. That morning was pouring and very cloudy. ;)

"Also the article claims that you grab weaks all day...what about boat traffic…
Yes, the entire day was very fishy and because it was early in the morning… there was not that much boat traffic to content with."

"The author says the bite will pick up now through september. So like bass I guess weaks are around most of the time but with the good part of the season during the spring and late summer/fall. How true is this?"
That is very true and a common weakfish pattern! During the early season… You will encounter the largest tiderunners (spawners)… and as the summer progresses, you will likely encounter smaller weakies.

However, during the late run - the larger weakies are found in cooler waters (Inlets and Ocean front / beaches) where they are snacking on snappers, kingfish, peanuts and "(spearing, .

Hope this helps! :)
