Does anyone know how i can find out the boundrys for sat air show? I want to take the boat out of wantagh park and fish.Thanks

If the Coast Guard doesn't come speeding at you with lights and sirens blaring, you should be good to go.

they will have buoys up and security patrols at the perimeter.

You can get within app 1.5 miles

If it is a nice day, I plan on being off the JB needle watching the show. Do you mean 1 1/2 miles off the beach? The planes are probably taking off from Republic.

You can watch them practice today, like yesterday around 10-11am from the beach. Offshore,anchor or drift around 1.5-2mi off the beach,that leaves a good safty gap for the show. No markers or bouys set in the past but pleanty of floating enforcement.

No boundry in the bay, just pleanty of boat traffic.

The boundries are from the water tower, which is the central reference point 1.5 miles east and west,from the beach out to about 1 mile. That rectangle is closed.

Had a couple of F-22's land at MacArthur yesterday morning. VERY COOL!!! They buzzed right over head...just a little loud.
My brother got out there and snapped a few pix before they touched down.

AllyKat, WOW!

I am planning on going to the air show tomorrow just to see the F-22. I have never seen one before so that is my main reason (excuse ) for going. I have been to the air show several times, never gets ?old? to me.

The view from Zach?s Bay will be fair at best;

most of the show runs parallel to the beach. I did snap that pic of the Blue Angels over the water tower a couple of years ago, (coming north to south) but they don?t go over the bay too much.

We've been anchored in Zachs bay for the last four years for this. Great show. No problem seeing the planes.

I haven't been able to attend an air show in quite a while. The last show I was able to see was in San Diego. It was the MCAS Miramar Air Show. Spectacular.

Yo Koz.....
It was friggin awesome!!!! We share the fence with the airport, so we had a great view. Around 9am the shop got real loud...I first thought we had a machine crashing

. We went outside and had these F-22 doing touch and go's right over our heads. They circle 3 times and it was over, but the F-22 was a first for me...I've seen A-10's, F-14's, 15's, 16's and 18's especailly in Virginia beach.
The running joke in the shop now is they flew in to pick up some pieces that we are late on.

We've done the show the last three years. There's no need to run to the ocean, you get a fine view from the bay. Either east side or west side of the wantaugh bridges works. Biggest chanllenge is to find a spot where you won't be getting constantly waked from all the 36 ft searays that wiz by. BTW, Look for the Blue angels and the F22's in the last 90 minutes of the show.
