I saw this adjustable rig with a "special knot" being advertised some time ago in another fishing magazine that said it was patent pending. Well I just took the time to look it up and it is published as U.S. Patent Publication No. 2006/0026892. Apparently the inventor let the application go abandoned.

It looks like an interesting knot with the top hook easly adjustable up and down the main line but wont slip when fished. At least that is what it says in the patent application.

Going to try tying it this weekend. Let me know if anyone has any luck with it and how it works out.

Thought some of you might be interested.

I have been using a similar rig but i had to cut the line and retie it to adjust it. I fish whole squid with the rig. I had trouble coming up with something that could be slid to adjust and which stayed in place when in the desired position. It would be great if this actually works.

I tie one hook to the end of the line with a palomar. The I make a loop in the line and push the loop through the eye of the second loop, Then twist the loops and pass the hook through, then do it again. The second hook stays in place and drags the squid qith no problem. I might slide if a fish is hooked on it, but who cares? you can adjust it easily enough when you unhook the fish. To adjust just push on the loop and unloop the hook once, you can then slide it up and down the line to where you want it.
