I was wondering what kind of adhesive would be used on star board material...or used to glue something to a bait tank made out of heavy white plastic..

There are several adhesives designed to work on Starboard. They are expensive, two-part items specific to the material. Just Google Starboard adhesive and you should come up w/ a few options.

You can use Craftics Solvent Cement. Most glass shops should have this or something similar to it. The solvent actually melts the plastics together.

If I remember correctly, they recommend mechanical fastners due to the fact that glue doesn't work. I have done many project with starboard and I never use glue, I only rely on screws.

The only proper way to join to pieces together is to have them heat fused and pressure fused together thats the only way to join PE material together permanently with out mechanical fastners

If it's not structural, you can use Petit's FlexPoxy.

IIRC according to the manufacturers there is no "glue" i.e. adhesive that will make structural joint in starboard or simialr plastics. There are some solvents, that when used properly will melt the two pieces together, but even they don't provide a joint that can be subject to much pressure, due the the thin layer that melts together. The only way to really shape the stuff and maintian structural integrity is to heat and bend it to the desire shape.

I also used gorilla glue to mount my knife holder and it has held for three years.
