I have a question about fishing at Demo. Last season I fished there alot and there was one time that I was trapped on the point when the tide came in. I wasnt worried about being swept into the inlet, besides I was there fishing with others but it was just a very uncomfortable feeling being trapped. My question is what conditions cause the tide to come up where you cant get out. ie full moon/ high tide, west wind etc.?? Any info would be great.

Either Full or New moons can drive the tide high enough to wash over the bar. A good Southwest blowing up on top of this will also kick up the surf enough to the point that it could wash over.

Basically, if you are on the point during a moon tide you should be expecting the washover. Depending on the height of the beach on the bar it might not happen but it's best to always "expect it" too!!

A strong east wind can and will push a lot of water up over that bar, especially with a new/full moon. The back side access road will also flood, and you may not be able to get off the beach at all. Those are the times when you tell the wife/boss your not able to leave, and you get to stay and fish longer!!!
