Well I just got back from fishing with my youngest girl and we went for a ride not planning on fishing. We saw the guys doing it onthe weakies so I decide to give it a whril. I told my daughter to hold the rod while I set up my other one and BAMM! She says dad I think I got something? Well see was right?
So I thought this would be a nice topic for Dads Mom's and the kids Tell us or show us a picture of your first catch.

the smiles on a kids face when they get a good fish is worth 1 million bucks to me!

Amazing, how such a cute kid can spring from the loins of a "Superstar" like this.

last summer I took all three of my daughters out on moriches bay (16,13,5 at the time) for days before we went the yongest one kept telling everyone that she was going to be high hook. Wouldn't you know she out fished everyone on the boat 2 to 1 not bad for a first time out (we still haven't heard the end of it)

Took one of my daughters to 3rd Wantagh for some chunking. Even though the bite was slow, she showed the patience needed in this game. Beautiful morning (9/8/02), time to catch up with each other, and we hit a few c-bass and porgies as the tide slacked (she was tickled pink). Had to leave them biting since current started swinging the boat around. Picked up some snappers back at the dock.
She had a great time, I had a chance for some one-on-one, and we both have a nice memory.

I took all my daughters 7,5,2 porgy fishing which was a major mistake as you guys know the action can be fast & furious. After running myself ragged between baiting hooks and releasing fish I finally took stock and noticed that we lost 2combos overboard,1 pair of pliers, nearly all my lead being thrown over,2 hooks in my hand, and 1 egg on my forehead due to flying lead!!
Definately the best trip of the year>>

First and keeps it going

My sons first fish was about 6 years ago in Moriches on the iside of the inlet. Droped it down and 30 seconds later he had a 22 inch fluke. Easy right? Try explaining that to a 5 year old that it doesn't always happen that way.
This Sping he got his first keeper bass about 200 yards from where he got his first fluke. He has come along way sence then.
We are going to put the boat out in Gone Fishin for 2 weeks and he loves it there. This will be his 3rd season out there doing this. He loves Montauk!!

HE IS HOOKED!

YOUR RIGHT

He will probably hit the big one. He always is high hook when we go. But Dad may have a few tricks thanks to some people I fish with.
You fished before with him. I hook em and he reels it in. Although his first bass was start to finish. Now that was the biggest smile I ever saw. I will never forget it.
There must of been about 6 boats around us and when he held it up everyone starting yelling for him on what a good job he did.
I was very proud of him.
