They got a couple in the 70 pound range on the Helen H codfishin last year.
700 lb Atlantic Halibut at Georges Banks-maybe NJ ?
I was reading an article that they are farm raising Atlantic halibut for possible restocking of the ocean
The Halibut in our area were bigger than the Pacific strain
At one time they were caught and treated as a garbage
Than they caught on as a food fish and almost fished into extinction
I've caught small ones years ago on the first Georges bank trips.
Do you think they will make a come back
And we might some day be getting barn doors in our own back yards.
They once ranged all the way south to NJ.
